Paula Deen got this recipe from the former Mrs. Billy Joel's book, "The Comfort Table," and I'm now sharing it with you!
Pimento Cheese Spread:
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar (can substitute using Velveeta)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped pimentos
1 tablespoon pickle relish
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Assorted crackers or bread
In food processor, pulse cheese until it resembles a fine meal. Add mayo and process until creamy. Add pimentos, relish, onion powder, salt, hot sauce and pepper. Process until blended. Serve on crackers or bread.
