My first recipe should be none other than our absolute favorite salad. My husband and I eat this salad all the time. I hope you enjoy it as much as he and I do. If you try it and like it, let me know. Then send me your favorite salad recipe if you wish to share. This is enough for an entire meal in itself.
Crunchy Romaine Toss:
1 bag of romaine-chopped
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 pkg, Ramen noodles-season packet discarded
4 Tbsp. butter
1 bunch broccoli-chopped
4 green onions-chopped
1 small pkg. sunflower kernels
1 cup sweet & sour dressing (see below)
Brown the noodles, kernels, walnuts, and broccoli in butter. Drain mixture and combine with chopped romaine and green onions. Pour 1 cup of dressing over salad and toss well.
Sweet and Sour Dressing:
1 cup veg. oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
3 tsp. soy sauce
Combine all ingredients in an air tight container. Stir together, dissolving sugar. Once sugar is dissolved, cover with lid and shake vigorously. ENJOY!
